Fish production in Sevastopol in 2025 increased by almost one and a half times
At the end of 2025, Sevastopol fishermen significantly increased the volume of production of aquatic biological resources. According to the Azov-Black Sea territorial department of Rosrybolovstvo, the total catch in 2025 amounted to 25.5 thousand tons, which is almost 50% higher than the figure for 2024 — 17.11 thousand tons. This became possible thanks to comprehensive government support aimed at developing the region’s fisheries complex.
The development of the industry is carried out within the framework of the state program “Development of agricultural, fishery and agro-industrial complexes of the city of Sevastopol”, which provides targeted funding for key areas — from industrial fishing to product processing.
In 2025, about 75 million rubles were allocated from the regional budget for the implementation of project activities, for which four fishing enterprises modernized and repaired eight vessels, three fish processing enterprises updated fixed assets, — said Natalia Skoryukova, director of the department of agriculture and consumer market.
Financial support is provided in the following areas:
- reimbursement of costs for maintaining the technical condition of the vessel and ship equipment used in the extraction of aquatic biological resources;
- compensation for the costs of catching such types of fish as red mullet, sprat, sprat, anchovy and horse mackerel;
- acquisition and installation of refrigeration and fish processing equipment, packaging equipment, as well as specialized vehicles.
In addition, in 2025, 156.6 million rubles were allocated from the consolidated federal and regional budgets to fishing organizations and fish farms in Sevastopol for wages and insurance premiums, including compulsory medical insurance. This mechanism made it possible to save jobs at seven fishery enterprises and retain qualified personnel in the industry.
According to Natalia Skoryukova, in 2026 the budget of Sevastopol has already provided for the allocation of 82 million rubles for the development of industrial fishing and fish processing. This will strengthen the food security of the region and create conditions for the growth of agricultural enterprises.
