For discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, a Bakhchisaray resident was convicted

The maximum administrative fine was imposed by the Bakhchisaray District Court of the Republic of Crimea on a resident of the city of Bakhchisaray for discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in order to protect the interests of Russia and its citizens, maintain international peace and security as part of the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine.
As it became known, on May 21, 2023 at 22:30, a local resident, born in 1974, while in one of the bars in the city of Bakhchisarai, used foul language against the actions of the Government of the Russian Federation and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. At the hearing, the man admitted his guilt in full and claimed that he supported Russia’s actions regarding the conduct of a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine. The court considered that the guilt of the offender in committing an administrative offense had been proven and his actions were subject to qualification under Part 1 of Art. 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, as public actions aimed at discrediting the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in order to protect the interests of the Russian Federation and its citizens, maintain international peace and security— noted in the press service of the court.
The man was given the maximum punishment provided for by the sanction of Part 1 of Art. 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.
In addition, administrative punishment is a measure of responsibility established by the state for the commission of an administrative offense and is applied in order to prevent the commission of new offenses, both by the offender himself and by other persons.
The decision has not entered into force.
