According to Yakubov, this year “work on mistakes” was done in organizing the Hajj so that the situation of last year, when many pilgrims were not able to obtain visas, would not be repeated.

Conventionally, someone needs to re-stick the photo in their passport, someone needs to confirm that he is registered with the military at the commissariat, someone needs to undergo an appropriate medical examination,” the head of the State National Committee of Crimea clarified.

Hajj, a pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina in Saudi Arabia, is one of the five pillars of Islam. Every Muslim should do it if he has the opportunity. In 2025, Russian Muslims timed the pilgrimage to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory and the Year of Defender of the Fatherland. In 2026, the Hajj will take place in the last ten days of May. Saudi Arabia will provide a quota for the Hajj for 25 thousand Russian pilgrims.
