Four Crimeans were among the winners of the “Mentoring” track of the “Flagships of Education” project
A total of 24,146 applications were submitted to the Mentoring area. The track aims to develop a culture of mentoring in education and is built around practical work. Participants teamed up in “mentor + mentee” pairs, learned from each other and solved common professional problems, creating a joint project. The winners received a certificate of participation in the “Flagships of Education” project, the opportunity to become an expert and speak at events at various levels — regional, federal, international.
One of the features of the track was a pairing system: participants were selected by a special digital bot. This helped connect people with similar professional interests and goals. Each couple created their own “road map” — defining the values of the interaction, planning the work and building trust.
From the Republic of Crimea, the winners of the “Mentoring” track of the “Flagships of Education” project of the Presidential Platform “Russia – the Land of Opportunities” were:
- senior teacher of the international children’s center «Artek» Tatyana Pecherkina — mentor;
- English teacher of Zelenogorsk secondary school Elzara Kurtseitova — mentee;
- Tutor of the Center for Continuous Professional Development of the Artek International Children’s Center Maria Dubenko — mentee;
- teacher-speech therapist, teacher-defectologist of the Yalta special school Natalya Bytko — mentee.
Tatyana Pecherkina specializes in developing advanced training programs for teachers in Russia. He is the author of methodological manuals, an active participant and moderator of all-Russian forums. The main thing in his work as a mentor is the preparation of winners of federal competitions. According to Tatyana, participation in the “Mentoring” competition track of the “Flagships of Education” project is an opportunity to summarize many years of practical experience, exchange best practices and contribute to the development of the mentoring system.
Elzara Kurtseitova has been working in the education system for 25 years. Over the years of professional activity, Elzara has established herself as an experienced teacher and mentor for both students and teachers. Its main task is to transfer experience to young professionals, help them adapt to the conditions of the school environment and support the project activities of students. According to Elzara, thanks to the competitive track “Mentoring” as part of the “Flagships of Education”, her own experience acquired a clear structure. It also gave her the opportunity to learn advanced techniques for interacting in mentoring pairs and significantly expand her circle of professional contacts.
Maria Dubenko is a young tutor at Artek, who in 5 years has gone from a primary school teacher to the head of a methodological association. In her first year of work, she created the “Young to the Young” project for pedagogical classes. The desire to make the teaching profession more comfortable prompted Maria to develop a chatbot to develop stress resistance. This digital tool, created in dialogue with management teams across the country, is already helping teachers maintain internal balance. At Artek, Maria is creating a new model of supporting teachers, combining the experience of a teacher with the competencies of a tutor and psychologist. Her story proves that not only experience, but also the bold ideas of new specialists are important for changes in education.
Natalya Bytko is a representative of the modern generation of teachers. Her professional path in the education system, which began in 2013 as a preschool teacher, led her to correctional pedagogy. Regularly takes part in teaching skills competitions. As Natalya noted, thanks to the “Mentoring” track, she had the opportunity to be mentored, master modern teamwork techniques and significantly enrich her professional competencies.
During the track, participants completed creative and practical tasks: analyzed examples of mentoring in the arts, solved pedagogical cases and prepared joint projects. At the final in-person event, the winners continued this work — creating initiatives that can be implemented in schools, colleges and universities. Projects in three areas were presented — involving students of pedagogical specialties in work in the field of education, supporting aspiring teachers and preventive work with minors.
The final event also included an outreach program with experts in the fields of education, mentoring and outreach. The participants had a conversation “Social mentoring in Russia: specifics and prospects” from the Russian statesman, veteran of the Northern Military District, deputy director of the Institute for the Study of Childhood, Family and Education Alexandra Rodionova, as well as a master class “Creating an individual development plan” from the head of the Federal Methodological Center for the Development of the Institute of Mentoring and chief methodologist of the Mashuk Knowledge Center Alexander Nizov.
The “Education Flagships” project is carried out as part of the implementation of the federal project “Russia – the Land of Opportunities” of the national project “Youth and Children” with the support of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh).
