Fraud in the field of housing construction with damage of more than 52 million rubles is being investigated in Sevastopol
An investigator from the investigative unit of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Directorate for the city of Sevastopol is investigating a criminal case against an unscrupulous developer who has not fulfilled his obligations to build private residential buildings.
According to investigators, from August 2023 to June 2024, the 36-year-old defendant, one of the managers of the construction company House Guru, offered real estate construction services to residents of Sevastopol and Crimea, entered into contracts with them for the construction of private residential buildings and received money from them as an advance payment. To attract potential clients, he rented an office and advertised his activities on the Internet. However, he did not fulfill his obligations. Most often, instead of a full-fledged building, which they were supposed to build in 6-7 months, the deceived clients received an “unfinished” structure, unsuitable for use and habitation.
Currently, victims in a criminal case initiated under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, 16 residents of Sevastopol and the Republic of Crimea were recognized. According to preliminary data, the amount of damage caused is over 52 million rubles.
The person involved in the criminal case was detained by police and interrogated as an accused. A preventive measure in the form of house arrest was chosen against him.
The investigation of the criminal case continues, a circle of other persons involved in the commission of crimes, as well as other citizens affected by illegal activities, is being established.
