Full «bouquet»: drunk, without a driver's license stole a car. An instructive story from Kerch

CrimeaPRESS reports:

In Kerch, employees of the State traffic inspectorate detained a suspect in car theft. The «nuances» of the story: the hijacker turned out to be drunk, even without a driver’s license.

The duty unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Kerch received a message from a local resident that an unknown person had unlawfully taken possession of her Peugeot 308 car. Within half an hour after the message was received, the wanted car was installed and detained by the employees of the Kerch State Traffic Inspectorate.

A 21-year-old local resident with obvious signs of intoxication turned out to be driving the vehicle without the right to drive vehicles. The young man refused to undergo an examination for the state of intoxication on the spot or a medical examination in a medical institution.— told the details in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.

Employees of the State traffic inspectorate in relation to the offender drew up a protocol on an administrative offense under Part 2 of Art. 12.26 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (failure by the driver of a vehicle who does not have the right to drive vehicles or is deprived of the right to drive vehicles, the legal requirement of an authorized official to undergo a medical examination for intoxication, if such actions (inaction) do not contain a criminally punishable act).

But these are «flowers», «berries» — in a criminal case. The investigator of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Kerch initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art. 166 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Unlawful possession of a car or other vehicle without the purpose of theft”). The maximum penalty under the article is imprisonment for up to 5 years.
