Important: the payment schedule for January pensions will be adjusted
CrimeaPRESS reports:
The pension payment schedule in December will be adjusted due to the New Year holidays, so that pensioners can receive January payments in full before they begin. This was reported by TASS November 7, member of the State Duma Committee on Small and Medium Enterprises Alexey Govyrin.
He recalled that there is a standard practice when the January pension is paid in advance at the end of December, since the first days of the new year are non-working days, so banks and post offices do not conduct transactions at this time.
According to Govyrin, the December pension will be paid on the usual dates, but if the pension accrual day falls on a weekend, it will be paid earlier depending on the bank’s internal schedule, and the early January pension should arrive in the last ten days of the month — as a rule, these are the dates from December 22 to 29. A similar scheme applies to those who receive a pension through Russian Post branches: the December payment will be delivered according to the usual schedule — from December 3 to 25, and the January payment ahead of schedule — from the 25th to the 30th. This payment procedure was approved by order of Russian Post and agreed with the Social Fund, the deputy noted.
January pensions assigned through the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Guard and other departments will also arrive earlier, before the start of the January holidays, he indicated.
At the end of the New Year holidays, pension payments will return to the usual schedule, and February pensions will be accrued on the usual dates.
Earlier, the Ministry of Labor prepared changes to the rules for calculating federal social security payments towards pensions. The ministry proposes to stipulate that the suspension of payments — in cases where this is provided for by law — will be carried out from the 1st day of the month following the month in which the circumstances leading to this occurred.
