Important: until December 1, Crimeans can change their pension savings insurer
Crimeans with pension savings can, until December 1, 2025, change the insurer to manage their funds — transfer the funded pension from the Social Fund of Russia to a non-state pension fund (NPF) or vice versa, or replace the existing NPF with another fund. Since the beginning of the year, the SFR Branch for the Republic of Crimea has received 235 applications for the exercise of rights in the formation of a funded pension from residents of the region.
There are two types of transfer applications: early, when pension savings will be transferred to a new insurer next year, and regular — according to which the funds will be transferred after five years.
The most convenient way to submit an application is through the State Services portal: this will require an enhanced qualified electronic signature. This can also be done in person by contacting the customer service of the SFR Branch for the Republic of Crimea with a passport and SNILS.
It is important to remember: changing the insurer more often than once every five years will lead to the loss of investment income accumulated since the last fixation, which means the total amount of savings may decrease. You can find out the date when the five-year period for transfer without loss expires in each specific case on the State Services portal by requesting “Notice on the status of a personal account in the Financial Markets Service.”
When choosing a non-state pension fund, it is important to remember that you must first draw up a compulsory pension insurance agreement with the selected fund, and only then submit an application for transfer. However, in case of doubts or changes in the decision, citizens have the right to submit a notice of refusal to transfer no later than December 31,” said Ivan Ryabokon, manager of the SFR Branch for the Republic of Crimea.
If during the year a citizen has submitted several applications to change the insurer, then in order for the latest of them to be accepted for consideration, it is necessary to cancel all previous applications, submitting a refusal notice for each of them.
