In 2021, 85 cultural heritage sites were identified in Sevastopol

Most of the objects of cultural heritage identified in Sevastopol in 2021 were archeological monuments, one third — buildings and structures, including the Khlebnikov Estate on the North Side and the Marine Astronomical Magnetic and Meteorological Observatory on Cape Pavlovsky. Thus, at the beginning 2022 of the year in Sevastopol 1 565 objects of cultural heritage are subject to state protection. According to Irina Maslikova, head of the department for the protection of cultural heritage objects of Sevastopol, one of the key tasks of the department in the field of state protection is the inclusion of historical and cultural monuments in the unified state register of objects of cultural heritage of the peoples of the Russian Federation, as well as the approval of objects of protection and boundaries of territories.

As of the end of the year, 783 monuments were included in the unified state register, orders were also issued to approve protection for 88% of monuments included in the register. Territory boundaries are approved for 93% of the total number of monuments included in the register. In addition, the filling of the unified state register of real estate continues. Last year, specialists of the department conducted an inspection and photo fixation of the technical condition 24 of historical and cultural monuments. According to the results, acts of technical condition and plans for carrying out conservation work for each object were drawn up.

In addition, in the 2021 year in Sevastopol, for the first time, work began on the preservation of cultural heritage sites — multi-apartment residential buildings. The program for the overhaul of common property included two buildings on Lenina Street, a house at Bolshaya Morskaya, and a house at Admiral Makarov, 17. Work in this direction will continue in 2022 year.

Last year, we also carried out conservation work at three mass graves. Restoration work on objects of military history is also being carried out in the city for the first time. In addition, a project for the restoration of the Tauride Stairs was developed and considered, and the restoration of the Art Museum (Museum named after Kroshitsky) continues,” Irina Maslikova notes.

She also recalled that last year the governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev, at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin, outlined the need to restore the buildings of the central city ring. Now, on behalf of the head of state, a work plan is being developed.
