In Chersonesus, thousands of Sevastopol residents and guests celebrated the Epiphany of the Lord
Today at the St. Vladimir Chersonesus Monastery they solemnly celebrated the great twelfth feast of the Epiphany. His prayerful joy was shared by thousands of believers who marched in procession to the Heroon River in “New Chersonese” and performed ablutions in its waters and in the waters of the Quarantine Bay of Tauric Chersonese.
The Divine Liturgy at St. Vladimir’s Cathedral was led by Metropolitan Tikhon (Shevkunov) of Simferopol and Crimea, co-served by the brethren of the Chersonesos monastery. Festive chants were performed by the bishop’s choir under the direction of Deacon Alexander Amerkhanov.
At the end of the service, thousands of believers marched in procession to the Heroon River of the New Chersonesos museum and temple complex and to the shore of the Quarantine Bay in the Tauride Chersonesos museum-reserve. After the consecration of their waters, everyone who wished took a bath in the river or in the sea. Ambulance doctors and rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations were on duty near the swimming areas, and there were tents on the shore for changing clothes and heating.

The Tauride Chersonese Museum-Reserve congratulates believers on the Epiphany of the Lord and wishes peace, light, harmony, health and grace! — noted in the press service.
