In Crimea, a guilty verdict was passed against the Feodosians who beat up the Russian boxing champion and his comrade

The evidence collected by the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol was recognized by the court as sufficient to convict seven residents of Feodosia. They were found guilty of using violence against the Russian boxing champion and his comrade.

The investigation established that in the early morning of July 28, 2024, a 23-year-old athlete and his 43-year-old friend on the Feodosia embankment stood up for a passerby who was being beaten by a group of people, after which the attackers inflicted numerous bodily injuries on the men.

Information about the incident was identified during monitoring of social networks. On behalf of the head of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Russian Federation Investigative Committee for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, V.N. Terentyev, an investigation team of the most experienced investigators was created in the shortest possible time to establish the circumstances and participants in the conflict. In cooperation with colleagues from the republican departments of the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, all nine participants in the mass brawl were detained.

The entire necessary scope of investigative actions was carried out to prove the direct involvement of the accused in the crime: searches at the places of residence of the defendants and their relatives, inspection of the crime scene and verification of evidence with the participation of the accused on the spot, video recordings from street surveillance cameras were seized and studied, forensic examinations were carried out, a number of witnesses and eyewitnesses to the conflict were questioneda,” the department’s press service reported.

All the accused fully admitted their guilt in the crime committed. The investigation seized the accounts and their property in order to further compensate for moral and material damage to the victims.

Today, by a court verdict, the defendants were found guilty of the charged crime and, depending on the degree of guilt in this conflict, were sentenced to imprisonment for a period of 1.5 to 3.8 years in a general regime correctional colony.

Criminal cases against two more accused have been separated into separate proceedings.
