In Crimea, “age” racketeers were detained – they “squeezed” land from a businessman

In Crimea, a criminal case has been opened against two local residents suspected of extortion. As emphasized in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea, one of which positions itself as an «active participant in the criminal environment.»
In February, the defendants, being in one of the cafes in the city of Simferopol, under the threat of physical violence and the dissemination of information disgracing the victim, demanded that he transfer ownership of several land plots located on the Black Sea coast to a third party. Continuing to threaten violence, the victim was taken outside and beaten there. The man managed to escape, but after a while the attackers overtook him again. The victim was released only when he agreed to the extortionists’ demands for the transfer of property. In the days that followed, the attackers kept their victim under constant control by making threatening calls to their mobile phones.— told the details in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.
As a result of operational search activities carried out jointly with the regional FSB, two men aged 55 and 60 were detained on the territory of the Republic of Crimea on suspicion of involvement in the crime.
The investigative unit of the Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 163 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Extortion committed by a group of persons by prior agreement)— specified in the Crimean police.
The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the detainees. Currently, measures are being taken to establish additional episodes of their illegal activities.
