In Crimea last year, the incidence of HIV decreased by 16%
The incidence of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in the Republic of Crimea in 2025 decreased by 16% compared to the previous year, the regional Ministry of Health told TASS.
In 2025, there is a decrease in the incidence of HIV infection in the Republic of Crimea by 16% compared to 2024. Based on the results of 2025, the main route of transmission of HIV infection in the region remains sexual transmission — 82.56%, parenteral transmission (through blood, violation of the integrity of the skin or mucous membranes — TASS note) is 16.2%, — the ministry reported, citing data from the Center for Prevention and Control of AIDS.
The gender distribution in 2025 is: men — 57.9%, women — 42.1%.
