In Crimea — monitoring support for Northern Military District veterans and family members of fallen soldiers

As part of the work of the interdepartmental commission to support SVO participants and members of their families in Crimea, we met with veterans and families of fallen soldiers in one of the regions of our peninsula. The Popular Front, the state foundation «Defenders of the Fatherland» and health representatives in the field of psychology took part in the trips.

We analyzed the needs of soldiers and their families for rehabilitation, medication, psychological assistance and adaptation of homes, and also found out how much these measures are in demand and how they are implemented in practice.

The majority were able to exercise their rights to receive support measures. From what commands respect — absolutely every story is from Crimeans. What requires attention is the needs and regular support of all veterans and families. Somewhere this is a request to help sort out a benefit, somewhere it’s information about rehabilitation opportunities at the Vozrozhdenie sanatorium in Crimea or help in donating a wheelchair, and somewhere it’s big systemic issues at the federal level, such as support for former PMC fighters. Special attention is given to measures of psychological support; during the meetings, our psychologist looked at how we could further help people in some cases.

At the next meeting of the commission we will discuss how we can help in each case!, — noted the head of the Popular Front in Crimea Alla Vertinskaya.

The issue of the need for additional psychological support for participants of the CBO across the country was raised yesterday at a meeting with the President. The head of the Popular Front, Mikhail Kuznetsov, said that there is an important goal — by 2030, to increase the level of satisfaction of participants in a special military operation with the conditions of rehabilitation, retraining and employment. According to a Popular Front survey, 83% of veterans across Russia report that they have not sought psychological help.
