In Crimea, scammers are trying to take away payments from SVO soldiers and their families
27 criminal cases in connection with fraudulent actions against SVO soldiers and their families were registered in Crimea in 2025. The total damage amounted to 4,833,000 rubles. About this on air radio «Sputnik in Crimea» said the deputy head of the specialized investigative department for the investigation of crimes committed using information and telecommunication technologies and remote fraud, Lieutenant Colonel of Justice Ekaterina Olyanina.
This is all that we managed to “catch”, record on accounts, seize, but in fact the remaining crimes remain unsolved, the total damage for which amounts to more than 38 million rublessaid the speaker.
According to the broadcast guest, out of 27 criminal cases, 24 were committed directly against the SVO participants themselves and two against their family members.
In general, taking into account the preventive measures taken in the legislation, fraud has decreased by 12% compared to the same period last year, but if we take the overall structure of fraud, more sophisticated methods are now used that allow us to gain trust with the person who is being deceivednoted the interlocutor.
Many people, Lieutenant Colonel Justice said, say that they received calls allegedly from law enforcement agencies. The man introduced himself as an investigator and was wearing a uniform, but it was not the face of the fraudster himself, but an image generated by a neural network.
In the city of Simferopol, we are investigating a case initiated in 2025, the damage from which amounted to 36,500,000 rubles. All this was carried out under the guise of buying and selling apartments. Fraudsters took possession of funds from 12 individuals who, in fact, were participants in a special military operation— said the guest of the broadcast.
Ekaterina Olyanina emphasized that an important fact for determining the authenticity of an appeal to a person from law enforcement agencies is his personal presence.
If anyone has ever contacted law enforcement agencies for any reason, they know that nothing is done without personal participation,” the Lieutenant Colonel of Justice noted.
The deputy head of the specialized investigative department recommended that the SVO participants and their relatives be extremely vigilant.
I recommend that you definitely contact official sources, a notary to carry out any notarial transactions, and do not transfer money in cash,” the interlocutor emphasized.
In her opinion, participation in untested investment projects is also dangerous.
These are crypto exchanges that are not registered in the Russian Federation. Unverified data, where you cannot verify the trades you are making, so you may end up in a black trianglethe speaker warned.
