In Crimea, the Kyiv District Court of Simferopol issued a verdict in a criminal case against the former head of the administration of Belogorsk, Igor Ipatko, and another citizen (“a resident of the region”). Depending on the role and degree of participation, they were found guilty under paragraph “c” of Part 5, Part 6 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (receiving a bribe by an official), paragraph “b” part 3, part 4 of Art. 291.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (mediation in bribery), part 1 of Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (abuse of official powers).
The court established that the head of the city administration, through an intermediary, received 2.5 million rubles from an individual entrepreneur for assistance in providing a land plot for rent, issuing an urban development plan, as well as in resolving all issues that arise when using it.
The accused were detained by officers of the FSB Department for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol while transferring part of the money.
In addition, the former head of the administration of Belogorsk gave an illegal instruction to subordinate employees to conclude a fictitious contract for the provision of services in the field of improvement.
The court, agreeing with the position of the public prosecutor, sentenced the former head of administration to 9 years and 6 months in prison with a fine of 5 million rubles and serving the sentence in a strict regime correctional colony. He is deprived of the right to hold positions in the public service and in local governments related to the implementation of organizational, administrative and administrative functions for a period of 5 yearsthe prosecutor’s office said.
The intermediary in receiving a bribe was sentenced to 7 years and 2 months of imprisonment on probation for 4 years.
