In Crimea, the court will consider the case of fraud with land plots worth 63 million rubles

In Crimea, the prosecutor’s office approved the indictment in a criminal case against seven (!) local residents. They are accused of committing crimes under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud) and part 3 of Art. 30, part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted fraud).
According to the investigation, the organized group that committed the theft of land included employees of the regional committee for state registration and cadastre, local authorities of the district and firms involved in the acquisition and sale of land. In the period from 2016 to 2018, with the help of fake decisions of local governments, the defendants re-registered ownership of 83 municipal land plots with a total value of more than 63 million rublesthe prosecutor’s office said.
The criminal actions of the accused were suppressed by the FSB officers. During the investigation, the property was seized. The criminal case was sent to the Bakhchisaray District Court for consideration on the merits.
