The court, on the basis of the guilty verdict of the jury, sentenced the woman to 4 years of suspended imprisonment with a probationary period of 3 years.the prosecutor’s office said.
The prosecutor filed an appeal.
The Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea, having considered the prosecutor’s appeal, overturned the verdict by which the resident of the region was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 4 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm, dangerous to human life, negligently resulting in the death of the victim).
The court found that in November 2021, the convict was at home with a boy born in 2014 with a serious chronic illness, whom she cared for. In the course of the personal enmity that arose, the woman hit the minor on the head with her palm and repeatedly threw him with force onto a sofa with a hard surface. The child died at the scene of the crime from his injuries.— recalled the circumstances in court.
Disagreeing with the judicial act, the public prosecutor appealed it to the Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea, which agreed with the arguments of the prosecutor’s office, canceled the verdict and sent the case to the court of first instance for a new trial.
