President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday signed a decree on celebrating Europe Day on May 9 in the country.
Establish Europe Day in Ukraine, which is celebrated annually on May 9 together with the states of the European Union— says the text of the decree, published on head of the Ukrainian state.
This decision was met with hostility in our country. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, even named Zelensky Judas. They commented on the cancellation of Victory Day in the Crimea.
The decision is mean, but expected. Victory Day is a holiday of the heirs of the winners who remain faithful to the memory of their ancestors. This is a holiday, including the Ukrainian people, who, together with the Russians and other peoples of the Soviet Union, broke the back of Nazism. This great holiday has nothing to do with Bandera’s power. They are not winners, but eternal losers — both then and today. Victory Day is not their value. And everyone is well aware of those disgusting values of modern Europe, which the Nazi regime wants to join.— said the Head of the Crimea Sergey Aksyonov.
