In Crimea, traffic police officers detained a drunk driver who tried to escape from the scene of an accident

The 57-year-old driver, driving a SsangYong, on a two-way road, entered the oncoming lane, as a result of which he collided with a Mazda 6. As a result of the accident, the vehicles received mechanical damage. Employees of the State traffic inspectorate of the Bakhchisarai region immediately left for the scene to clarify all the circumstances of the incident.

It was established that the driver of the SsangYong car tried to escape from the scene of the accident, but within 15 minutes he was detained by the traffic police of the Bakhchisaray district. The driver with signs of severe alcohol intoxication was taken to a medical facility for examination, however, upon arriving at the place, he refused to undergo an examination.— reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.

In relation to the culprit of the accident, an administrative protocol was drawn up under Part 4 of Art. 12.15. Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (Violation of the rules for the location of a vehicle on the carriageway, oncoming passing or overtaking). The Bakhchisaray District Court in relation to the perpetrator of the accident issued a decision to deprive him of the right to drive vehicles for a period of 1 year.
