On December 30, work traffic was opened along the transport interchange on the Highway of Heroes of Stalingrad street in the hero city of Kerch. The Head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, announced this in his Telegram channel. The road infrastructure facility was built within the framework of the state program of the Russian Federation “Socio-economic development of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol”.
According to Sergei Aksenov, construction and installation work began in 2020.
The total length of the facility is more than 1.1 kilometers; it is a four-lane road. The project included, among other things, the reconstruction of a 184 m long overpass, the construction of a transport interchange at different levels, the arrangement of storm drainage, staircases, electric lighting, – shared the Head of the Republic.
At the same time, the design capacity of the main street Heroes of Stalingrad Highway is more than 37.5 thousand units of transport per day, and the backup street is more than 18 thousand units. The cost of construction amounted to more than 1.9 billion rubles.
As Sergey Aksyonov noted, the commissioning of a new facility will help increase the intensity and safety of road traffic and improve connections between residential and industrial areas of the city.
