In October, Crimean reservoirs were well replenished with water
CrimeaPRESS reports:
Last October pleased Crimeans with heavy rainfall, despite the dry year. The inflows into the reservoirs of Crimea were significant, Anatoly Kopachevsky, director of the scientific and production company “Water Technologies”, and the head of the department of chemical technologies of water use at the Institute of Biochemical Technologies, Ecology and Pharmacy, KFU, spoke about this on the radio “Sputnik in Crimea”. Vernadsky, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Ilya Nikolenko.
This year, in October, which turned out to be high-water due to heavy rainfall, natural flow reservoirs were replenished by 12 million cubic meters, which was not the case over the past five years. Currently, the volume of filling natural flow reservoirs is 87 million cubic meters,” noted Anatoly Kopachevsky.
He also emphasized that this is a significant difference over the past five years, and the filling volumes are twice as large as they were in 2020. In his opinion, the water shortage situation of that year will not be repeated.
It should be added that thanks to the cyclone that passed in October, the Belogorsk reservoir showed significant inflows. The Ayanskoye reservoir received 2 million cubic meters of water, the Simferopol reservoir — 3 million, and the Partizanskoye reservoir, which had had no inflows at all for several months, was filled with 2 million cubic meters.added Ilya Nikolenko.
According to the expert, since the beginning of the year, 8 million cubic meters of water have flowed into the Ayanskoye reservoir, 12.9 million cubic meters into the Simferopol reservoir, and 7 million cubic meters into the Partizanskoye reservoir. The amount of inflows since the beginning of the year amounted to 28 million cubic meters.
He also noted that the filling of reservoirs this year is higher due to the fact that water was also taken from underground sources.
Somewhere around 15 million cubic meters since the beginning of the year — this is such a serious volume — we took from underground sources that were drilled and connected to the water supply system for the period from 2018 to 2022. Thanks to this, the overall water situation will stabilize“, the expert emphasized.
