In Russia, influenza and acute respiratory viral infections are on the rise

In the 12th week of 2026 in Russia there was a slight increase in the incidence of ARVI and influenza by 4.4% — 667 thousand cases were registeredthe department said in a statement.

Laboratory studies show that the proportion of positive influenza virus findings is decreasing. The structure of influenza viruses is dominated by A(H3N2) viruses; influenza A(H1N1) pdm09 and B viruses also circulate, but their share is not large. In the structure of respiratory viruses, RS viruses and rhinoviruses prevail, experts specified.

At the same time, the incidence of coronavirus is now at a seasonal level, about four thousand cases were recorded within a week, the department added.

Respiratory viruses continue to actively circulate even with the arrival of spring and some warming, experts add and remind us of the need to frequently wash hands and ventilate rooms. In addition, it is important not to contact people who are sick, and at the first signs of ARVI or flu, consult a doctor.

The day before, the Interregional Directorate of Rospotrebnadzor for Crimea and Sevastopol reported that incidence rate ARVI and influenza in Russia and, in particular, in Crimea and Sevastopol, is decreasing.

A week earlier in Russia there was registered 639 thousand cases of ARVI and influenza. The incidence rate corresponded to the level of mid-October last year, which indicated a decrease in incidence.
