In Russia, the terms of repair under the OSAGO policy are increased

Now, instead of 30 days, 45 days will be allotted for car repair under OSAGO. The corresponding decision Autocode, has already been approved by the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation. As Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Moiseev clarified to Izvestia, this measure was caused by the difficulties in supplying auto parts to the country.

According to the PCA, this will increase the share of cars repaired under auto insurance policies. So, if in 2021 OSAGO restored 8.8% of cars, by the end of 2022 this figure was 5.3%. In other cases, clients received monetary compensation. However, the funds received are not always enough for repairs, and customers are forced to seek the missing amounts through the courts from the perpetrators of the accident.

Insurance companies also supported an increase in the terms for the restoration of cars under OSAGO. According to them, the average delivery time of spare parts from Europe can reach four to six weeks. The longest are components for luxury, American and right-hand drive cars. For a number of cars, according to Absolut Insurance specialists, deliveries are delayed up to six months, 45 days will be enough to repair Korean and Chinese cars.
