The final of the II city competition “Best Kindergarten Chef — 2025” was held at the Sevastopol College of Service and Trade. 10 chefs from 10 preschool educational institutions in the city took part in it.
A competition is an opportunity to show yourself and your skills. It is very important for chefs to share their experience; only by communicating with each other can you learn something new and interesting. For example, there are various interesting collections of recipes, new children’s dishes that are added in preschool institutions. The winners of the competition will receive universal recognition, prizes, and gifts.— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Science Elena Andrus.
Each of the competition participants presented a video presentation on the topic: “Secrets of a successful kindergarten cook!” Next are three head-to-head tests:
— testing for knowledge of the theoretical foundations of preparing baby food, the requirements of sanitary standards and regulations;
— “homework presentation” — a healthy cupcake for kids;
— culinary duel, demonstration of skills and abilities of preparing dishes in accordance with the presented technological map.
All participants were offered the same set of products, from which they had to prepare a second hot dish with a side dish for children aged 3 to 7 years in two servings.
The jury paid attention to compliance with sanitary and hygienic requirements, cleanliness of the workplace, requirements for appearance, ability to work with tools and equipment, and cooking algorithms.
I made a healthy cupcake with cottage cheese and candied fruits. It’s very quick and easy to cook. Recipe according to the technological map, which can be used in kindergarten. Unfortunately, not all children like cottage cheese, so I added it to the cupcake. This is my first time participating in such a competition. I am inspired by my love for children, which is why I have been working in a kindergarten for 15 years and prepare delicious and healthy food for them every day.“,” shared the cook of kindergarten No. 90 Elizaveta Sulim.
The Department of Education and Science will announce the results of the competition in the first half of November.
