In Sevastopol, a former post office employee was detained, suspected of stealing almost 78 thousand rubles from a client
It was established that a 51-year-old Sevastopol resident decided to use the services of the post office to pay alimony. For this purpose, he turned to a 37-year-old employee and for six months, with her help, monthly issued postal orders, which the ex-wife was supposed to receive in the same department. Everything seemed to be going according to plan, but one day, to his great surprise, the man received a notice of arrears in payments. Then he hurried to the post office to clarify the circumstances.
As it turned out, the department employee who helped him process the transfers quit of her own accord shortly before his visit. Then the man turned to the police for help.
Criminal investigation operatives of the Department of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Nakhimovsky district tracked down the attacker and detained her. All this time, the woman appropriated the funds received from the victim and spent them on her own needs. And in order to prevent the criminal scheme from being discovered, she printed out fake receipts indicating that the recipient had received money— reported the press service of the Government of Sevastopol.
The Investigation Department of the Department of Internal Affairs has opened a criminal case against the detainee under Part 2 of Art. 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Misappropriation or embezzlement”, she faces a penalty of imprisonment for up to five years.
