In Sevastopol, a fraudster was detained who replaced an expensive smartphone at a pick-up point

It was established that in the evening the young man arrived to receive an order at the marketplace order pick-up point. He ordered two gadgets: one is an original smartphone worth almost 100 thousand rubles, and the other is a high-quality dummy. Taking advantage of the fact that the pick-up point employee turned away, the sly one quickly hid the real phone in his pocket, put the dummy phone in the packaging underneath it and returned it for return. After the successful substitution trick, he headed home to celebrate his clever and almost free acquisition of a top-end mobile phone. However, the staff checked the opened package, and the deception was revealed, — note the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.

The next day, as a result of operational search activities, criminal investigation officers of the Department of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Gagarinsky district detained the suspect. As the police found out, he hid the stolen phone at home and in the future planned to use it himself.

A criminal case has been initiated against the defendant under Part 2 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud”. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to five years.
