In Sevastopol, a man called for terrorism, justifying the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall

It was established that the man posted three comments under publications in one of the messengers, which, according to the expert’s conclusion, contained linguistic signs of incitement to commit violent acts, namely to commit a terrorist act on the territory of the Russian Federation, similar to the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall, as well as calls for the defeat of Donetsk, Lugansk, Simferopol and Kacha.

During the operational-search activities, law enforcement officers identified the suspect and, with the force support of the special unit of the Russian Guard SOBR «Sokol», detained him. As it turned out, the defendant had already come to the attention of law enforcement agencies. In 2023, he was prosecuted for committing crimes under Art. 329 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Desecration of the State Flag of the Russian Federation”, Part 2 of Art. 214 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Vandalism”, as well as administrative liability under Part 1 of Art. 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation for public statements aimed at discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation — reported the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.

Currently, the investigative department of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol has opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Art. 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Public calls for terrorist activities, public justification of terrorism or propaganda of terrorism.” The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to seven years.
