In Sevastopol, a man kept a pistol and ammunition. Detained, criminal case opened
Employees of the criminal investigation department of the Department of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Gagarinsky district, when implementing operational information, established that a local resident was illegally storing prohibited items.
During the activities, operatives discovered a Makarov pistol and eight rounds of 9 mm caliber, after which, with the force support of the Sokol SOBR of the Russian Guard, they detained the 46-year-old owner of the pistol and ammunition. He explained that an acquaintance had previously given him the prohibited items, and since he did not know the legal ways of disposing of them, he continued to store them. Previously, the attacker had already been prosecuted for robbery and violation of traffic rules and operation of vehicles— reported the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.
The territorial department of inquiry opened a criminal case against the suspect under Part 1 of Art. 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Illegal acquisition, transfer, sale, storage, transportation or carrying of weapons, their main parts, ammunition.” The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of three to five years.
