In Sevastopol, a man stole a crane from a garage cooperative
CrimeaPRESS reports:
One evening, the 37-year-old auto mechanic finished work and left the crane directly under the car next to his garage, without even thinking that someone might need the 70-pound device. However, to his surprise, in the morning the equipment was no longer in its original place. The man immediately contacted the Department of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Leninsky district.
Employees of the criminal investigation department detained a local resident who had previously been convicted under a similar article. It was established that the man, having taken strong drinks, went home through the garage cooperative, saw an interesting metal object and decided to take it with him. He pulled the crane out from under the car and rolled it on wheels towards the house. On the way, the Sevastopol resident met his neighbor, convinced him that the equipment belonged to him and sold it for one and a half thousand rubles— the details of the story were announced in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.
After all the circumstances were clarified, the crane had to be returned to its rightful owner, and against the enterprising local resident, the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Leninsky District opened a criminal case under paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. According to the sanction of the article, he faces up to five years in prison.
