In Sevastopol, a thief was detained — a «specialist» in unfinished houses

In Sevastopol, operatives detained a man suspected of stealing from houses under construction. As clarified in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol, at present, police officers have established the detainee’s involvement in three episodes of illegal activity.
It was established that a 28-year-old local resident, previously convicted of various property crimes, at night, using a metal crowbar, squeezed out plastic windows and penetrated non-residential households under construction. From private unfinished buildings, the attacker stole power tools and household appliances, and then disappeared. His illegal trophies in three cases of theft were a hammer drill, a TV set, a gasoline generator and two grinders. The total amount of damage caused was about 80 thousand rubles. The man sold the stolen property to pawnshops, and spent the proceeds of crime on alcohol, entertainment and drugsthe police said.
As a result of operational-search activities, the criminal investigation department of the Severnoye police department detained the suspect. Criminal cases were initiated against the person involved under Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Theft”). The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 5 years.
