It was established that before committing the thefts, a 19-year-old local resident watched public catering establishments for some time, and in the evening, after they closed, he went out for criminal activities. Having damaged the entrance doors, he got inside and stole proceeds from the cash registers. In one case, he did not have to open the cash register — the cafe workers blithely left the key in the drawer. Having taken the cash, the attacker disappeared and spent the stolen money on food and other purchases. As a result of operational search activities, employees of the criminal investigation department of the Russian Department of Internal Affairs in the Nakhimovsky district detained a suspect. As it turned out, he had previously been prosecuted for the theft of two-wheelers and mobile phones.

Criminal cases have been initiated against the detainee under paragraphs “b” and “c” of Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The sanction provides for up to five years in prison.
