In Sevastopol, children with disabilities are helped to overcome anxiety and stress
Children with disabilities often experience increased anxiety and stress, which complicates their adaptation to society. The Sevastopol Rehabilitation Center for children and adolescents with disabilities has developed a comprehensive psychological assistance program that helps children gain emotional stability and self-confidence.
Childhood is a period when even small negative experiences can become a strong traumatic factor. But the child’s psyche is very flexible, so with proper support, specialists can help the child work through anxiety states and develop healthy ways of responding to stress.
First, we conduct an initial diagnosis: it helps to determine the degree of stress and anxiety in each child. We observe behavior, use rating scales and questionnaires, and collect anamnesis in conversation with parentssaid psychologist Irina Maiko.
The center’s specialists use proven psychological and pedagogical methods:
- art therapy: through creativity, children express emotions that are difficult to convey in words;
- sand therapy: playing with sand helps to work through internal conflicts and fears in a safe environment;
- relaxation techniques: relaxation exercises reduce tension and teach you to control your condition;
- breathing exercises: simple exercises help you quickly calm down in moments of anxiety;
- consultations for parents: families are given recommendations on how to support their child at home and consolidate the results of classes.
The goal of the program is not just to reduce the level of anxiety, but to ensure the child’s full social integration.
To register a disabled child for social services, you must submit an application and provide documents to the center at the address: st. Nikolay Muzyki, 20. The center is open from Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 17:00. Telephone for consultations: +7 978 784 62 93.
