In Sevastopol in 2025, 3 fires occurred due to children’s pranks

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The stories of fires were announced by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in Sevastopol:

  • a six-year-old boy found matches and a candle at home, lit it, but hid it in the closet when he heard his mother’s steps outside the door — as a result, the kitchen burned down;
  • another six-year-old experimenter decided to play with a candle while sitting on cardboard boxes on the balcony, a fire broke out, the child did not call for help, but ran out and closed the door behind him — when a fire was discovered, the flames engulfed the balcony and part of the room;
  • The seven-year-old fidget set fire to branches and threw them at an ownerless car — the vehicle did not survive.

In all these cases there were no casualties. But, unfortunately, this does not always happen!

Sevastopol firefighters of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations remind:

  • children should not be left unattended;
  • always monitor how your child spends his time;
  • Place matches and lighters out of reach;
  • Explain to your child why fire is dangerous and how to avoid fire;
  • come up with activities and games that help reinforce safety knowledge;
  • remind your child what to do in case of a fire: do not hide in the closet, do not open the windows, leave the room, call for help;
  • Repeat with him the emergency numbers: “101” and “112”.

Does your child play safely?
