The “Social Nanny” service is implemented within the framework of the national project “Family” and is short-term supervision and care for children under 3 years of age in a social service organization or at home. Parents can use this support twice a week. The duration of one session is up to three hours.
If there is no one to leave the child with, and the adult needs to go away on his own business, a social nanny is an excellent opportunity to solve this situation. The service is provided absolutely free. To receive it, one of the parents submits an application and consent to the processing of personal data to the Center for Social Assistance to Family and Children. You must have with you a document proving the identity of the applicant, as well as the spouse if the applicant is married. Since the beginning of 2026, 13 families have used the service, — said the head of the Family MFC Irina Kashperuk.
Young families (in which both spouses are under the age of 35 inclusive) or a single parent under the age of 35 inclusive, raising children under three years of age and belonging to the following categories have the right to receive the service:
- women with children who are not married (the father is absent from the birth certificate or is recorded according to the mother, declared missing, deceased by court decision, deprived of parental rights or limited in parental rights);
- families with children where one or both spouses are studying full-time in Sevastopol in secondary vocational or higher education programs;
- large families with children having the status of a large family in accordance with the law;
- low-income families registered with the department of social protection and receiving state social assistance on the day of submitting an application to the Center for Social Assistance to Family and Children;
- families in difficult life situations (registered with the Center in the appropriate category).
The nanny’s responsibilities include:
- child care in the absence of parents;
- planning and conducting gaming and educational activities;
- feeding, hygiene procedures, sleep.
Since May last year I have been working as a social nanny, and this work brings me pleasure. I love children very much, so it was not by chance that I chose this profession. Previously, I had undergone an in-depth medical examination to work with children, as well as training in caring for children and interacting with families. Another interesting thing is that you often meet new people: we find a common language with mothers and can always talk about something interesting,” social worker Marina Kapustina said.
Young mother Ekaterina Smyk often gets help with her 11-month-old baby Eva.
When the need arose to urgently visit a doctor, and there was no one to leave my daughter with, I decided to take advantage of this measure of support. This turned out to be a real salvation. I immediately trusted the social worker, because a qualified specialist remained with the child. It’s also convenient that the service can be received not only at home, but also at the Center for Social Assistance to Family and Children. This is very helpful when you need to get advice on the spot. So you gave the child to the nanny, and you decide other important family issues yourself.said Ekaterina.
You can apply for the service at the addresses of the Center for Social Assistance to Family and Children:
