In Sevastopol, mothers of children with special needs are learning the art of ceramics
CrimeaPRESS reports:
A master class on making ceramic products was held as part of the “Special Path of the Family” project. The initiative of the public organization “Special Children” this year became the winner of the SONKO competition and is being implemented with the support of the Government of Sevastopol.
The training will take place in two stages. First, women will master the skills of working with clay: kneading, rolling and sculpting, as well as creating an artistic image. Then the finished products will be taken away for firing. At the second master class, participants will learn how to decorate their products with acrylic paints.
When I saw these angels, I really liked them. I generally like these products, I ordered them a lot via the Internet. I have a whole collection of houses, and I have always dreamed of making something like this with my own hands. Thanks to the project, today my dream has come true. Now I will have my own, handmade— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes master class participant Natalya Samolyuk.
The head of the public organization “Special Children” Lyudmila Khalikova emphasized that various activities and classes for parents and children with disabilities are held regularly within the framework of the project.
Our project includes a whole series of events designed to help families, and especially mothers. These include master classes on everyday makeup, and creative classes, such as today. There will also be photo shoots, festive and outdoor events. All of these activities are a reminder of the importance of taking care of yourself and making time for enjoyable activities. This is what fills you with strength and energy to be a support for the family and help your child develop.notes Lyudmila Khalikova.
In addition to leisure activities, the project includes educational trainings. For example, the “Early Bird” series consists of eight meetings at which mothers of children with autism spectrum disorders are told about how to communicate with a child, how to understand his needs, as well as the importance of creating a comfortable and supportive atmosphere in the family.
The implementation of the “Special Path of the Family” project will last until the summer of 2026.
