In Sevastopol, police officers ensured the safety of the celebration of the Nativity of Christ
Public order and the safety of citizens during the Christmas events were ensured by employees of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol in cooperation with military personnel of the Russian Guard, as well as representatives of private security organizations, people’s squads and Cossacks.
On the eve of the holiday, police carried out comprehensive inspections of the premises and surrounding areas of 22 Orthodox temples and churches, where ceremonial services are traditionally held. At many sites, security control was carried out using special devices. During the days of celebration, patrol routes were built with maximum coverage of all key locations. Particular attention was paid to ensuring road safety - State Traffic Inspectorate crews monitored the situation on roads near churches. Almost five thousand people took part in Christmas services- reported the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.
In total, during the festive events, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol received 57 messages from citizens.
On Christmas Eve there was one accident with a 64-year-old pedestrian injured. Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate stopped 18 violations of traffic rules of the Russian Federation, including identifying 4 drivers in a state of intoxication.
The measures taken ensured reliable protection of public order and the safety of citizens during the period of Christmas services; no violations were committed.
