In Sevastopol, the court will consider a criminal case of illegal organization of gambling

The prosecutor’s office of the Gagarinsky district of Sevastopol approved an indictment in a criminal case against two men aged 26 and 28 years.

They are charged with Part 3 of Art. 171.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organization and conduct of gambling using gaming equipment outside the gambling zone, using the Internet, organized by a group, associated with the extraction of income on a large scale).

According to investigators, between February and December 2024, the defendants created an organized group to conduct illegal gambling on the Internet. The men rented office space on the street. Rural in Sevastopol, installed computer equipment in it and brought several administrators into the group. The gambling establishment operated under the guise of courses on cryptocurrency trading and investment. In reality, the criminals provided clients with the opportunity to participate in virtual gambling for a monetary reward.

The total income from these criminal activities amounted to more than 2.6 million rubles,” reported the press service of the Sevastopol prosecutor’s office.

The work of the illegal gambling establishment was stopped by employees of the Economic Security and Internal Affairs Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Sevastopol together with investigators from the regional unit of the Investigative Committee of Russia with the force support of the special unit of the Russian Guard SOBR «Falcon».

During the investigation, mobile phones, video surveillance equipment, 18 system units and monitors were seized.

The district prosecutor’s office sent the criminal case with an approved indictment to the Gagarinsky District Court of Sevastopol for consideration on the merits.

Materials regarding other accomplices have been separated into separate proceedings.
