In Sevastopol, the driver who drove the car while intoxicated was prosecuted

In Sevastopol, the court delivered a guilty verdict in a criminal case against a man, born in 1971, registered in Krasnodar, but actually living in Sevastopol. According to the Sevastopol prosecutor’s office, he was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 1 of Art. 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (driving a car by a person in a state of intoxication subjected to administrative punishment for driving while intoxicated).
It was established that in April 2022, in the afternoon, a man left Simferopol driving a car. Upon arrival in Sevastopol, near the house number 15 on Krepostnoy Highway, he was stopped by traffic police officers of the traffic police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Sevastopol. Since, in the presence of signs of intoxication, the man refused to undergo a medical examination, he was suspended from driving. Subsequently, it was established that he had previously been subjected to administrative punishment under Part 1 of Art. 12.8 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation for drunk driving— reports the press service of the prosecutor’s office of Sevastopol.
Quite deservedly, a criminal case was initiated, the investigation of which was carried out by the Department of Inquiry of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Gagarinsky District of Sevastopol.
The court, taking into account the opinion of the public prosecutor, sentenced the man to 300 hours of compulsory work with deprivation of the right to engage in driving activities for a period of 2 years and 6 months.
