In Sevastopol, the forum “Mentoring: from model to implementation” brought together 380 teachers

In Sevastopol, at school No. 54 named after Yu. A. Gagarin, the V interregional forum “Mentoring: from model to implementation” was held. The event brought together 380 people from 14 regions of Russia: Sevastopol, Moscow and the Moscow region, St. Petersburg, the Republic of Crimea, Krasnodar Territory, Rostov, Nizhny Novgorod, Vladimir, Zaporozhye, Kherson regions, Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug.

Today we are discussing the relevance and effectiveness of the institution of mentoring in the education system: in kindergartens, schools, and secondary vocational institutions. A mentor today is a highly professional person who provides assistance primarily to young professionals, transfers experience, and teaches practical features of working with children in all educational organizations. And, of course, the mentor continues to shape the worldview of a modern teacher. The profession of a teacher is definitely interesting, but very difficult. A modern teacher is a professional who must constantly improve himself, work on himself, and a mentor helps in professional development,” shared the director of the Institute for Educational Development Elena Mirgorod.

The geography of forum participants is expanding: in 2023, the guests were educators from six regions; in 2026, teachers from 14 regions of Russia are present at the forum.

Heads and their deputies supervising mentoring activities, methodologists, teacher-mentors, teachers, young specialists with up to three years of work experience attended the plenary session and seven platforms where best practices in mentoring and reducing the bureaucratic burden were broadcast within the framework of the “Lean School” project.

Young specialists shared creative and effective practices and best practices with experienced teachers.

The All-Russian Community of Mentors-Educators is engaged in the popularization of pedagogical activities, and at the forum we resolve issues related to the organization of a regional branch of the All-Russian Community of Mentors-Educators. The essence of the community is for teachers to go beyond their offices, namely into social networks, run their own public pages, channels, talk about interesting finds, inspire their colleagues and young teachers,” noted the deputy director of school No. 25, regional representative of the All-Russian Community of Mentors and Educators, Irina Tsys.

The event also awarded the winners of the regional competition “Model of a mentoring system for educational organizations” in Sevastopol. 37 teams shared their mentoring practices within the competition.
