In Sevastopol, the police completed the investigation into the case of an accident involving a deceased minor girl pedestrian.

An investigator from the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Gagarinsky district has completed a criminal investigation against the driver of a foreign car, accused of negligently causing the death of a minor girl pedestrian as a result of violating traffic rules.
A traffic accident occurred on the afternoon of August 9 this year in the courtyard of house No. 43 on October Revolution Avenue. According to investigators, a 66-year-old driver of a Mitsubishi Pajero, moving in the courtyard of a house and turning right, was not convinced that the maneuver was safe and hit a 16-year-old female pedestrian who was crossing the roadway of the courtyard from right to left in the direction of the car. As a result of the actions of the foreign car driver, the pedestrian received bodily injuries, from which she later died in a medical facility.
A check carried out by the police showed that the 66-year-old driver was sober at the time of the traffic accident. As part of the preliminary investigation, police interviewed eyewitnesses of the road accident, assigned and carried out forensic, automotive and other studies. The property of the accused, namely the car, was seized— the details of the case were announced in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.
The accused admitted her guilt in full for the crime committed.
In the near future, materials of the criminal case under Part 3 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation with an indictment approved by the prosecutor’s office of the city of Sevastopol will be sent to court. The sanction of the incriminated article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to five years.
