In Sevastopol, police patrol officers detained a local resident suspected of illegal possession of drugs.
While on the patrol route, the police drew attention to a young man who had outward signs of drug intoxication. Since the law enforcement officers had reason to believe that the passerby might be carrying prohibited substances, it was decided to conduct a personal search of him. In the presence of attesting witnesses, officers of the patrol service of the police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Nakhimovsky district found in the pockets of the man’s clothes a plastic bag with white powder and a paper bundle with plant matter. The result of the forensic examination showed that the bag contained amphetamine, and the paper bundle contained marijuana.— reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.
The detainee told the police that he had purchased illegal substances on the shadow segment of the Internet using a bookmark and kept them for personal use. A criminal case was initiated against the suspect under Part 1 of Art. 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to three years.
