In Sevastopol, two more parking lots will be paid

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The government of Sevastopol has decided to expand the network of paid parking lots in the Leninsky and Balaklava districts.

The changes are aimed at optimizing transport infrastructure, improving road safety and streamlining parking space in the busiest areas of the city.says the press service of the Department of Transport.

The parking zone included the territory near house No. 2 on Gogol Street — near the former Ukraine Hotel:

This will reduce the load on the surrounding area, especially in the area of the park on Ushakov Square, where there is a massive concentration of people and vehicles. An alternative remains available for city residents — free parking behind the Sailors’ Club.

The operating hours and tariff for the new parking will be similar to those in force in the center: 35 rubles/hour from 8.00 to 20.00 on weekdays, the rest of the time — free.

Parking will be paid, and paid around the clock, in the area of the TES gas station on Sapungorskaya St., 32A. The cost of an hour here is announced at 50 rubles with the caveat that for the convenience of visitors to the gas station, 45 free minutes are provided. There are 32 parking spaces, including three free ones for the disabled.

The main goal is to eliminate congestion and chaotic parking that interferes with traffic, including special vehicles. This problem is especially relevant at night, when due to improperly parked cars, accidents occur during maneuvers.— this is how the need to introduce payment was explained by the press service of the Department of Transport.

As an alternative, drivers are encouraged to use free ride-hailing parking on Stroitelnaya Street in Balaklava.

To date, two territorial paid parking zones have been established in Sevastopol:

  • No. 1 in Balaklava (1 May Square and Kalicha Street) for 79 cars. In the winter period (from October 1 to April 30), you need to pay 50 rubles per hour from 8.00 to 20.00, and in the summer (from May 1 to September 30) — from 8.00 to 22.00 every day, seven days a week. This parking is free at night.
  • No. 2 on the Central City Ring for 751 cars. A fee of 35 rubles per hour is charged from 8.00 to 20.00. At other times, as well as on weekends (Saturday–Sunday), parking is free.
