In Simferopol, a 23-year-old «couch fighter» was detained — he called for extremism in social networks

Operatives of the Federal Security Service of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol detained for public calls for extremism on social networks of a 23-year-old resident of Simferopol. This was reported by the press service of the department. «Sofa Fighter» wrote under a pseudonym and believed in his anonymity, and hence impunity.

A Crimean created an account on the social network VKontakte and, under a pseudonym, prepared and posted on his page a text that calls for violent actions against a group of people identified on the basis of origin and nationalitythe message says.

The investigative department of the FSB opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Art. 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“public calls for the implementation of extremist activities, committed using the information and telecommunications network “Internet”). The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for up to 5 years.
