The Crimean prosecutor’s office sent to court a criminal case on embezzlement of more than 4.2 million rubles from citizens. A 22-year-old resident of the Rostov region is accused of committing 94 episodes of crimes under Part. 1, 2 art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud), part 1 of Art. 163 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (extortion), part 3 of Art. 30, part 2, art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted fraud).
According to investigators, the defendant posted ads on the Internet for the sale of antique furniture. After the transfer by those wishing to purchase expensive items of money, the young man did not transfer the goods to the buyers, he disposed of the stolen money at his own discretion. The man extorted money from one of the victims, threatening to create advertisements on her behalf for the sale of non-existent goods. In total, 94 residents of different regions of Russia suffered from the actions of the attacker, who stole 4.2 million rubles— reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.
The victims filed civil suits to recover damages from the accused. With the approved indictment, the criminal case will soon be sent to the Central District Court of Simferopol for consideration on the merits.
