In Simferopol, a man fell into a dug trench and died — the workers did not notice him and buried him

On behalf of the head of the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, V.N. Terentyev, a criminal case was opened on the fact of violation of rules and safety regulations during construction work, which through negligence resulted in the death of a resident of Simferopol (Part 2 of Article 216 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
It has been previously established that on the evening of October 16, a 67-year-old local resident fell into a trench dug at the intersection of 8 March Street and Obozny Lane in Simferopol during sewerage work, as a result of which he died. In the morning, workers, while grading the area, did not notice the man’s body and covered the trench with earth. The victim was listed as missing, and law enforcement agencies were establishing his whereabouts.,” the department’s press service announced the details of the incident.
Currently, investigators of the Kyiv Investigation Department, as part of the investigation of a criminal case, are establishing the circle of persons responsible for carrying out excavation work, ensuring safety standards and rules during their organization, and carrying out other procedural actions to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
