In the Saki district, a local resident tried to sell 500 grams of drugs
Employees of the Drug Control Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea, in cooperation with colleagues from the Saksky Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, detained a 37-year-old local resident.
During a search of his home, about 500 grams of illegal substances, including synthetic drugs and marijuana, were found and seized. Some of the seizures had already been packaged into single doses intended for further sale. In addition, police found equipment that was allegedly used for packaging and distributing drugs: electronic scales, bags, mobile phones and bank cards.
The detainee admitted that he received the drugs in a non-contact manner, acting as a “treasurer” on instructions from a social network. His goal was to distribute drugs through hiding places for profit. The examination confirmed that the seized substances were cannabis (marijuana) and mephedrone— reported the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea.
In addition to the criminal case initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Art. 30, part 3 art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Attempted illegal production, sale or transfer of narcotic drugs in a significant amount”, the man was brought to administrative responsibility under Part 1 of Art. 6.9 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation for drug consumption without a doctor’s prescription. He is currently in custody. The sanction of the article in a criminal case provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 8 to 15 years.
