The Saki District Court of the Republic of Crimea granted the investigation’s request and seized funds belonging to the suspects in the crime provided for in Part 3 of Article 30, Part 3 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted fraud committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy on a large scale).

According to investigators, two residents of the Saki district told their 23-year-old acquaintance that he was allegedly on the list of military service evaders and was facing criminal prosecution. The attackers offered to “resolve the issue” with the military registration and enlistment office for 250,000 rubles, preventing a criminal case. The young man, suspecting deception, since he was registered with the military commissariat and had not received any summons, contacted the security authorities. With the assistance of the Federal Security Service of Russia, operational search activities were carried out, during which the suspects were detained at the time of receiving the money.

As part of the investigation, to ensure the possible execution of the sentence regarding the collection of a fine, the investigative authorities applied to the court with petitions to seize the money of the suspects seized from them during the search. Having studied the case materials, the court found that the funds in question belonged to the accomplices of the crime, which was confirmed by their own testimony,” the court’s press service announced the details.

By a court decision, the investigation’s request was partially granted, funds belonging to the suspects were seized, and any actions to dispose of these funds were also prohibited. The period of arrest is set for the period of preliminary investigation, that is, until March 1, 2026.

The court decision can be appealed to the Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea within 15 days.
