In the Saki district, criminal investigation officers detained a suspect in a series of burglaries. A 30-year-old man secretly entered the private homes of residents of local villages, squeezing metal-plastic windows, from where he stole jewelry and money. The involvement of the defendant in three episodes has already been proven illegal activity. The total damage caused to the victims exceeded one million rubles.
During the search activities in the citizen’s home, the operatives seized part of the stolen money, the man disposed of other stolen funds at his own discretion, sold the jewelry— reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.
Three criminal cases were initiated on the grounds of crimes under Part 3 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Theft). The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of up to six years in prison. For the period of the preliminary investigation, a preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen for the man.
