In the Simferopol region, police officers detained three citizens. The men are suspected of selling counterfeit banknotes.
It was established that three citizens organized the systematic sale of counterfeit banknotes with a face value of 5 thousand rubles, paying with them for goods purchased in stores. Currently, police officers are carrying out operational-search measures to identify the facts of the sale of counterfeit banknotes by detainees on the territory of other constituent entities of the Russian Federation, and also identify other persons involved in the commission of the crime , the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea reported.
The investigative department of the MIA of Russia for the Simferopol region initiated criminal cases against the suspects on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art. 186 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (manufacturing, storage, transportation or sale of counterfeit money or securities). According to the law, for the sale of knowingly counterfeit bank notes of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, defendants in a criminal case face a penalty of up to 8 years in prison with a large fine.
